Saturday Evening Burn Out
An enthusiastic crowd lined the barricades along Centre Street in High River for the inaugural Burn Out event.
Drivers registered at the Canadian Public Auctions booth and proceeded through vehicle inspection at the NAPA Inspection Station before being allowed to enter the staging preparation line.
Once in the line, drivers were directed to one of three Burn Out start points. Our Announcer introduced each car as it reached its start point.
Drivers received the all clear, and flag start, first at Start Point One (furthest north), then Point Two and finally Point Three.
Smoke billowed eastward, engines roared, rear ends fish tailed and fun was had by all.
Sunday Show ‘n Shine
Here’s a few images from the Show ‘n Shine itself. Volunteers began arriving at their assigned posts before 6:00 am and still there were some vehicles already in place.
Every year we take over Downtown High River, filling every nook and cranny with “classic” vehicles. Many other Clubs arrive en-mass. For several years the Pontiac Club (Iron Indians) have formed part of our volunteer contingent. This year they were augmented by members of the Volkswagen Club.
If your Club is considering joining us in 2017, remember that all parking is on a “first come – first served” basis. We recommend that Club members gather at a venue on 12th Avenue in High River then proceed to our front Registration together.
