RCC Members Spring BBQ @ Langford Acres
    May 28 @ 11:00 am – 3:00 pm

Spring BBQ free to current Members

One of the perks of being a member of the River City Classics car club is our Spring BBQ which is free for our current Members.

The BBQ occurs each year during May. RCC provides burgers, hot dogs (sausages) and soft drinks for attendees. Traditionally, members bring along a small salad or other treat to share with the group.

Of course any “adult beverages” are the responsibility of the members in attendance.

This year will be the second time that we have held the BBQ at Jeff Langford and Jeannie Litwin’s property just outside Town to the northeast.

Brian Chipchase and Herman Groenwold have done the cooking for some years. Making use of equipment available from the Town of High River, Block Party Trailer.

You can appreciate that getting a good handle on the number of attendees is important. This year we are asking everyone to preregister. The Button below will take you to a different screen where you can complete the registration process.

Bikes & Bombers 2017 @ Bomber Command Museum
    Jul 22 @ 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

Bikes & Bombers 2017 will be the second year of this popular event.

Primary focus is on the aviation side with two start-ups of the 4 Merlin engines on the Lancaster Bomber in the parking lot in front of the Museum hangers. It’s a noisy affair which draws a large crowd.

In 2016 motorcycles were encouraged to park inside the hangers to provide an additional display for visitors to the event.

Information from the 2016 organizer suggests that the annual Nanton car show will be held on the same day. Car Show location is usually the park immediately north of the Museum.

On a sunny July day, the run from High River to Nanton can be an opportunity to get out those fair weather, short distance vehicles and give them a run.

If you are an aviation buff, then this will be an opportunity for you to check on progress on the restoration of the Mosquito bomber. The wooden wonder is taking shape but is a long way from completion.
